According to verified market research, Metaverse Market Size is worth more than 800 billion globally by 2030. The global Metaverse in Education Market is estimated to be valued over USD 90 Billion by 2030.

Education can unlock the opportunities of Metaverse. Metaverse can create a comfortable environment for classes, research, experiments, and projects. All these activities can happen in real-time, allowing students and instructors from all over the world to interact in the same virtual space.

How should we reshape our Education System in the Metaverse Age?
In the Metaverse, users can interact, experience, transact and conduct business together.

What should students prepare for this virtual world ?
Key technology enablers of Metaverse include AI, blockchain, AR, VR, XR, IOTs, 3D modelling, sensor, edge computing, Web 3.0, etc.

In order to make your virtual world more beautiful, you also need to have good artistic sense and understand how to design virtual scenes.

In order to maintain the economic system of the virtual world, you also need to understand fintech and tokenomics. Wah! That is really a lot!

Why should we have a virtual world as we have our real world?
Sometimes the virtual world can be much better than a real world. Particularly, when we are talking about education.

The Metaverse is redefining the conventional means of education by engaging students in hands-on practices, which can otherwise be dangerous and difficult to do in a real-world setting.

Learning how to use virtual reality in schools presents various benefits over traditional learning models, allowing children to “visit” places from the past or conduct dangerous experiments in a safe, virtual environment.

Metaverse is also great for attending classes, corporate training and conferences. The metaverse will change the way we interact with the world. The global pandemic, travel blocks and carbon neutrality drives all gave a push to the metaverse as people have got used to Work- From-Home. Less travel in the physical world means less carbon dioxide emissions. Transport accounts for around one-fifth of global carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.

The metaverse, by offering a 3D environment, provided the virtual environment for people around the world to meet up and to brainstorm at highly creative levels to solve problems.

However, there are challenges for driving education in Metaverse. These challenges include technology readiness, cost to build the digital twin campus, and know-how of a good virtual learning environment, data privacy and security concerns, and adoption to a new learning mode.

After all these are considered, we should all get prepared for the changes of education in the metaverse age.
